Seriously, if you guys haven’t been to Ada’s my only question to you is why not? The food looks amazing, created with the freshest ingredients, and tastes so good.  Just a few delicious bites from Ada's in Portland, Maine During some of the most difficult challenges our city has faced during 2020, Ada’s would always have some type of social media post that they were offering a free slice of pizza or some type of free food. I mean who does that in this day and age? It’s a sign that they are not only interested in making great food, but that they are generously pledging to be part of Portland’s community. When we say, we love our job, we aren’t joking. We love what we do! We love Ada’s! We love photographing pizza! We created this series of photos back in April when restaurants were first permitted to open up again in some form. The food photography session went so well. Each menu item, fresh out of the oven and ready to enjoy. We photographed each dish, so you could have the warm Ada’s experience, right in the comfort of your home. Sid and the team just spoiled us with the opportunity to photograph fresh pizza, pasta, salads, and cannoli’s.

 chocolate butterflies, garden blossoms, and vintage finds My client Chocolats Passion located in the West End of Portland Maine generously gave me a collection of her hand painted chocolates. Not only are they divinely delicious, they are each a unique work of art. Each package was delicately wrapped and placed inside a shiny black bag with thick braided handles. The minute my hand went through the loop of the handle, I knew that we were about to go home together and make some art. I am obsessed with these chocolates. Kept imagining all of the beautiful ways I could take their portrait. So I set out a day of creating a scene. Items from my personal vintage collection appeared along with fresh cut flowers from my garden by the ocean. My favorite collectibles needed to be with me, my new favorite chocolate butterfly. What is it about local business owners and their shops that are so enchanting? In particular Chocolats Passion. From the moment I walked in, I felt as if I was in Paris with all of the romantic goodness Paris can offer. I also immediately sensed a love and care for the neighborhood. The neighbors share loving salutations as they pass her door anxiously anticipating her opening for the day. It’s contagious! I mean who doesn’t love art and chocolate? The two make for a powerful combination. Recalling fond memories of the day we created a fun detailed photography session with Ricetta’s in Falmouth, Maine. We wanted to make sure we captured all of the delicious details this restaurant offers. As food photographers we understand the importance of photographing the menu items as soon as the kitchen has them ready to go. The fresher the better and it shows in the final image, always.  Strawberry and spinach salad from Ricetta's.  Higher Grounds in Portland, Maine Higher Grounds is one of the friendliest spots in the Old Port of Portland, Maine. We love stopping in for a coffee wherever we get the chance. On this particular day back in 2019, we switched hats from being patrons to now also having the honor of styling and photographing some of the goodies for their freshly launched delivery service. Here is just one example of the fun time we had. And to answer the question we are often asked, yes, we did order coffee afterwards and enjoyed every delicious sip!     Box of Joe to go from Higher Grounds Portland, Maine has quickly become one of the restaurant capitals of the US. One of the most favored locations is Petite Jacqueline located just off Exchange Street in the famous Old Port area of Portland. Our photography session with Petite Jacqueline was incredible. Each dish was carefully plated and abundant with color and texture; of course the aroma of every dish stirred our appetites. We carefully considered the location of the table setting and created a delicate and bright image without any extra distractions. We hoped to give the dish a front and center view in the frame, the most important location. Here are a few of the images from that day: The food inspired us, and we were in the creative flow. The afternoon of photographing and stylizing for Pizzarino in Portland, Maine has become one of the most memorable for us at Convinced Photography. There is a joyful anticipation of waiting for your food to arrive at your table. In a few moments the waiter turns the corner and comes over with a tray of delights. The perfect Italian ristorante experience continues on.
This is the feel we went for during the photography session for Pizzarino. We present a collection of images that will transport you from Portland, Maine directly to Italy. You will see so many fresh and carefully prepared dishes inspired from Milanese home cooking. We made sure to carefully stylize each dish like a gift placed right in front of you. This could be yours now! The images allow you to see the ingredients, the presentation, and portions. There is a small cast iron skillet that keeps the arancini perfectly warm. We also photographed a dessert that was a conically rolled sweet gnocchi filled with nutella. These are just a couple of items from the menu we photographed that afternoon.  Fern's Country Store There is something so heartwarming about showing up to your neighborhood country store and ordering your favorite item. Especially a spot like Fern’s. We were there for a couple of hours and got to photograph over a dozen menu items and wanted to share with you a few of our favorites. Here are a few of the menu items we photographed for our clients, Fern's Country Store in Carlisle, Massachusetts. Everything we tried was amazing, and so fresh!
We enjoy working with restaurants that really care about the quality of their menu items. It makes our job, photographing and styling, so much more enjoyable and gratifying! If you care about your cafe, then we want to come alongside and support you.  Sip of Europe in Portland, Maine by Convinced Photography Crepes! Savory + Sweet delicious crepes. I had the opportunity to create a food photography Portfolio with Uber Eats for Sip of Europe in Portland, Maine. Yulia makes these wonderful dishes and brings the flavors of Europe to the Munjoy Hill neighborhood. There are a lot of cool benefits of being a food photographer. I get to visit different neighborhoods throughout New England and photograph their restaurants and menu items like these wonderful crepes.  We had such a great time meeting the talented staff at Flux Restaurant. Flux is a fantastic restaurant located in Lisbon, Maine (restaurant location). Not only did we meet with the team, we got to photograph some of the most beautiful and artful menu items around. by Liz Davenport of Convinced Photography We believe in the vision of Flux and are happy to partner with our clients. Flux is a local restaurant that supports local farms and businesses by procuring Maine's finest. The perfect Maine ingredients paired with their imaginative culinary talent is a wonderful promise of Maine's very best. During the photo session, we got to see all of the local produce they use and even grab handfuls of it for our setup. Chef was happy to pause his from-scratch pasta making to give us some garlic cloves and fat red heirloom tomatoes. It's all about those extra details. We wish you could smell and taste all of the wonderful dishes we were able to photograph. Since they work with fresh items, the menu often changes, and never disappoints. It's fun, flavorful, and fantastic. These guys really know what they are doing! You can see those images on our Instagram account. There are details of the table condiments and a geometric mural. They also have a fresh revolving tap list of beer at the bar.
