We love creating a bird-eye view of all of the delicious menu items found at Fork + Spoon in Bangor, Maine. If you would like to see other photography examples of food click to our portfolio page here.
The restaurant industry has experienced a lot of highs and lows this year. It has been a great joy to work with restaurant owners during this time and to be a photographic witness of their resilience and creativity through this ever evolving season. Take a look at a few of the photographs we created for our clients. Dough Craft Pizza really knows what they are doing and the flavors are phenomenal! Most chefs can open any fridge or pantry and create the most magnificent feast from the simplest ingredients. So it is of no surprise that the restaurant world can take the present circumstances however great or challenging and still create something so beautiful from it all. It's like it’s in their DNA or something. Creating beautiful menu items in the midst of some of our most troubling times. Keeping us happy with great treats to take home, enjoy outdoors, and to not have to cook! Yay! It makes what we do as photographers so rewarding. We get to tell the story of the restaurant and the completed dish. Knowing so many of their patrons are going to be enticed by even more of their beautiful kitchen creations and enjoy all of the fulfilling goodness.
Riverside Cafe in Newburyport, Massachusetts is a great café with a wonderful team that cares about their menu and their guests. Take a look at the images we created for them! One of my favorite ways to photograph brunch menu items is in natural glorious sunlight. The sun spotlights all of the detail in each item placed on the plate and just makes it pop. From sweet strawberries to crispy bacon it all shines for us in these images. Also if you click on any of the images it will take you to our portfolio that showcases more wonderful food items we have photographed.
Monte's Fine Foods in Portland, Maine A great local Italian market and bistro off Washington Ave in Portland, Maine
Rí Rá Portland has a lot of history for me. During my first visit to Portland, Maine, we gathered with loved ones and enjoyed a lovely meal by the water. Over time it has grown to be one of our favorite spots and have often enjoyed a hearty meal and beer. On my most recent visit, Rí Rá became one of our clients and we had the wonderful opportunity to photograph so many new menu items for Fall 2020. Here are a few images of that photography session. We love working with restaurants right around the corner from our home here in Portland, Maine. The Old Port is the core foodie area of Portland, Maine and there really is something for everyone. Today, we chose Irish deliciousness! Rí Rá thank you again for making such heart warming meals! You help us survive through the cold winter. We are sharing a few selected photographs from the fresh and authentic menu of Ameera in Portland, Maine. The menu is incredibly bright, aromatic, and so tasty.
Seriously, if you guys haven’t been to Ada’s my only question to you is why not? The food looks amazing, created with the freshest ingredients, and tastes so good. During some of the most difficult challenges our city has faced during 2020, Ada’s would always have some type of social media post that they were offering a free slice of pizza or some type of free food. I mean who does that in this day and age? It’s a sign that they are not only interested in making great food, but that they are generously pledging to be part of Portland’s community. When we say, we love our job, we aren’t joking. We love what we do! We love Ada’s! We love photographing pizza! We created this series of photos back in April when restaurants were first permitted to open up again in some form. The food photography session went so well. Each menu item, fresh out of the oven and ready to enjoy. We photographed each dish, so you could have the warm Ada’s experience, right in the comfort of your home. Sid and the team just spoiled us with the opportunity to photograph fresh pizza, pasta, salads, and cannoli’s.
My client Chocolats Passion located in the West End of Portland Maine generously gave me a collection of her hand painted chocolates. Not only are they divinely delicious, they are each a unique work of art. Each package was delicately wrapped and placed inside a shiny black bag with thick braided handles. The minute my hand went through the loop of the handle, I knew that we were about to go home together and make some art.
I am obsessed with these chocolates. Kept imagining all of the beautiful ways I could take their portrait. So I set out a day of creating a scene. Items from my personal vintage collection appeared along with fresh cut flowers from my garden by the ocean. My favorite collectibles needed to be with me, my new favorite chocolate butterfly. What is it about local business owners and their shops that are so enchanting? In particular Chocolats Passion. From the moment I walked in, I felt as if I was in Paris with all of the romantic goodness Paris can offer. I also immediately sensed a love and care for the neighborhood. The neighbors share loving salutations as they pass her door anxiously anticipating her opening for the day. It’s contagious! I mean who doesn’t love art and chocolate? The two make for a powerful combination. |
