Through the lens of our cameras, we capture the power of community action. Photographs like these aren't just keepsakes; they serve as vital documentation of positive change. This day exemplifies that spirit perfectly. The United Way of Southern Maine brought together Hannaford employees to create a vibrant mural at The Opportunity Alliance. The finished piece, a beacon of hope for all who enter, embodies the message "Hope starts with you." These photos not only showcase the artistic accomplishment, but also highlight the collaborative spirit that makes these projects possible.

We fondly recall a delightful day in Portland, where Make Music Portland and their dedicated team of volunteers transformed an ordinary sunny June day into a vibrant celebration of community and music. The downtown area came alive with enchanting melodies as talented musicians performed in public spaces throughout the day. From an accomplished harmonica musician who generously shared his skills to the energetic performances of a local high school jam band in the park, the air was filled with captivating tunes. This particular photograph captures a heartwarming moment of a young girl experiencing the joy of learning to play the harmonica for the very first time. Her unwavering determination is evident as she attentively absorbs every instruction from the harmonica musician.

The festivities were brimming with the exuberance of outdoor life, music and joy. While there might not be a Make Music Portland event scheduled for 2023, we eagerly anticipate the possibility of another remarkable gathering in 2024! Our friends at Portland Downtown represent the business, cultural, and residential community in the on-going development and management of downtown Portland, Maine. Part of their plans in the summer of 2022 was to make a relaxing space on Milk Street during the summer.
Early one morning we caught a quiet moment on the street and took a few aerial images. Summers in the old port are a very special time and we appreciate all of the happy spaces Portland Downtown creates. On May 20th, the Children's Museum & Theatre of Maine in Portland, Maine was transformed into a dazzling display of gold and glitter, marking the centennial celebration of the Children’s Theatre, lovingly known as Maddy’s Theatre. The evening was made even more special with the presence of esteemed guests connected to the theater's namesake, Maddy Corson, Reba Askari, and Barbee Gilman, who were honored with heartfelt gifts in the hallowed halls of Maddys Theatre. As Cyle and Liz Davenport of Convinced Photography, we were privileged to capture the essence of this extraordinary event. The event was hosted by the talented Executive Director, Julie Butcher Pezzino, and the charismatic Chris Costa of News Center Maine, who served as the evening's Masters of Ceremonies. The program unfolded with a delightful cocktail hour, followed by a captivating theater performance featuring Bondeko, Viva, and the renowned Adam Gardner of Guster. Throughout the museum, guests were treated to enchanting plays, delectable food, lively animations, and the chance for adults to experience the cherished spaces that hold a special place in every child's heart. This glittering gold evening was a heartfelt tribute to the unwavering support and care that has sustained the Children's Theatre over the years. It was an opportunity for the community of Portland to come together and celebrate the theater's enduring legacy and the anticipation of future endearing productions. As we look back on this remarkable occasion, we are thrilled to share a glimpse of the magical moments we captured through our lens, preserving the joy and enchantment that filled the air that night.
