Centennial Celebration of Maddy's Theatre

On May 20th, the Children's Museum & Theatre of Maine in Portland, Maine was transformed into a dazzling display of gold and glitter, marking the centennial celebration of the Children’s Theatre, lovingly known as Maddy’s Theatre. The evening was made even more special with the presence of esteemed guests connected to the theater's namesake, Maddy Corson, Reba Askari, and Barbee Gilman, who were honored with heartfelt gifts in the hallowed halls of Maddys Theatre. The event was hosted by the talented Executive Director, Julie Butcher Pezzino, and the charismatic Chris Costa of News Center Maine, who served as the evening's Masters of Ceremonies. The program unfolded with a delightful cocktail hour, followed by a captivating theater performance featuring Bondeko, Viva, and the renowned Adam Gardner of Guster. Throughout the museum, guests were treated to enchanting plays, delectable food, lively animations, and the chance for adults to experience the cherished spaces that hold a special place in every child's heart.
