Day One: Cuba
Our casa particular host offered to send a driver to pick us up. Expectedly he was running behind our arrival schedule given that it is pretty unpredictable how long it will take to actually go through all of the customs procedures at the airport. His delay was well worth the wait. We had the ability to have our first experiences of Cuba. As soon as the airport doors opened, we could smell the sweet salty ocean air. We could hear the terms of endearment for family and loved ones greeting each other. We could see the bright colors, friendly greetings, and blue skies that adorn the airport. We could feel the tropical warmth on our skin and breathe it all in. What a moment. In our travels, we have learned that part of the journey is recognizing the gift of time. Sometimes the gift of waiting appears in the space of waiting for the next moment. In this instance a lovely drive + walk through Cuba. My advice to all that set out on a journey is to recognize the gift of Wait. Travel has its very own schedule and oftentimes it is out of our control. Enjoy the images! Come along with us to Cuba and enjoy the ride! more images can be seen here: Places
