Look at this panoramic image and join me in the silence of winter.
It is a challenge to live, work, and thrive in the snowy winter of Maine especially if you are not adjusted to the climate. This calm and still snow day has rendered the usual challenges effortless The day after a snowstorm does not stand a chance to be a normal day. It’s got to be a snow day. The whole neighborhood is hoping for a snow day. The snow has fallen and the neighborhood takes the day off and calls for an official snow day. During a snow day, the normal goes out the door and one expects to be able to do the unexpected. Like cross country ski down the hill, past all of the Victorian homes on Munjoy Hill, straight through on to The Prom. So for our snow day adventure plans, we grabbed our cameras, stepped out of our old Victorian apartment on the East End, and ventured down to the Eastern Promenade. Prior to walking out the door, the sky turned grey and gloomy, and for some reason it matched how my insides had been feeling. My insides had been feeling like a gloomy day on the East End. Distant from the adventures of newness and close to the quiet inside silence that only winter can offer. Winter sometimes is a silence unlike anything I had ever experienced prior to living here. The snow insulates earth like a recording studio. Only pure, crisp, non vibrating sounds clearly come through. On the Prom February 2021 By Convinced Photography (Cyle Davenport + Liz Davenport)
